DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECT AND THE CLIENT'S NEEDS

The object was planned for a warehouse. When signing the contract, and it was November 2018, we already had information from the customer on the basis of the warehouse. The base was a metal tile, which in places was cast iron, and in places – duralumin. The client needed a solid and smooth concrete floor.

TECHNOLOGY OF THE CONCRETE FLOOR DEVICE

At the negotiation stage, the client provided all the necessary information to our manager in detail. The technical specialist only had to come and measure the area of the room, as he did the next day after the application was made.

Based on the accepted data, we proposed the best option – a typical technology with the use of construction micro-reinforcing fiber.

ADVANTAGES OF FIBER-REINFORCED CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY

Fibro-concrete floor technology, unlike reinforced with reinforcement, has a number of advantages. A single armature works only for the bottom or only for the top, a double one will be a good blow to the wallet. Fiber works all over the base, and in some respects surpasses the reinforcing mesh, namely:

  1. Increases the strength of concrete for bending, compression and splitting up to 35%.
  2. Increases impact and fatigue strength over 500%.
  3. Prevents delamination of concrete mix up to 25%.
  4. Reduces the time of primary and final hardening by up to 50%.
  5. Reduces the risk of chipping corners and edges up to 90%.

HOW WE CUT COSTS

The technology we have proposed has reduced the cost by 26%, because fiber is cheaper than rebar. It significantly reduces the production time, because it does not need to be reinforced with a reinforcing mesh. At the same time, concrete is already supplied with fiber.

DIFFICULTIES IN INSTALLING A FLOOR FOR A WAREHOUSE IN MOSCOW

Usually, our teams use the technology of screed concrete by guiding beacons, which are slightly welded to the base to the desired height, and a seven-meter rule tightens the concrete mixture. However, as previously mentioned, the base consisted of metal and in places it was quite dangerous and impossible to weld cast iron to such a lighthouse structure. As a result, it was decided to use the technology with the use of liquid beacons – it is more complicated, but with the ability, the quality is not inferior to the first.

We also note that it was impossible for a concrete mixer truck to enter the warehouse, we solved the problem by renting a concrete pump. In general, the object was not complicated, but simply caused us some inconvenience.

THE RESULT OF OUR WORK

Despite all the inconveniences, we met the deadline, the work was accepted on time, the client received a smooth concrete base that will last at least ten years.
