THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS PROJECT
This technology was applied in Russia for the first time, and we did it! That is, for the first time we performed the technology of the plate device, which simultaneously performs the functions of a foundation for a self-supporting warehouse and a floor. In this design, the shelving system is simultaneously the supporting frame of the warehouse, on which the enclosing walls and roof are attached.
Construction of a self-supporting warehouse
So, we have started designing a modern warehouse of 1900 m2 for storing finished products. It must have the maximum filling of the goods and a high speed of work. Therefore, a system of shelving with filling using shuttles (robots that move goods around the warehouse themselves) was chosen. This is a modern type of warehouses – the most modern among those that the company has.
A NEW TYPE OF SOLUTION
The standard solution for such conditions was previously a foundation plate, where a frame of reinforcing rods acted as reinforcement. We turned to our partners, namely the Belgian company Beckart (the world leader in the production of steel fiber) with a request to develop a foundation plate in which steel fiber would act as reinforcement.
Beckart has extensive experience in using similar structures in Europe. Therefore, a standard solution was proposed, but with one exception – taking into account the temperature conditions, in addition to the steel fiber, a reinforcement mesh made of reinforcement with a diameter of 10 mm was designed, located in the upper part of the plate.
OUR ROLE IN THE PROJECT
Our service consisted not only in the direct production of work on the production of the plate, but also in the following:
In the design of the foundation plate itself;
And also in the design of a retaining wall, with the help of which the foundation plate will be held in space + 1 meter above ground level.
The company Beckart provided us with a calculation based on the designed structure, which was developed by our company in accordance with the construction standards of the Russian Federation.

THE DIFFICULTIES WE FACED
When selecting the composition of concrete, it was necessary to take into account the specifics of local bulk materials (sand and crushed stone). As a result, the optimal water-cement ratio was selected during the production process at the beginning of concreting.
Weather conditions – it was March outside and there was no stable sunny weather, i.e. hot days were replaced by rains. The slab was poured in 4 stages, but each stage had to be carried out without stopping. Therefore, the floor slab was protected from both the sun and moisture.
Since the concrete had to be taken with the help of a concrete pump, the largest concrete pump in the whole of North Ossetia was involved for this task. This solution turned out to be optimal due to the great remoteness of some sections of the plate.
Our company's base is located in Moscow, while the facility itself is in Vladikavkaz. This factor required us to monitor suppliers of concrete, materials, taking into account the peculiarities of the local climate, since the production of a plate with a hardener (topping) was carried out in the open air.
THE RESULT OF OUR WORK
As a result, the client received a foundation plate together with a floor covering that meets all its operational requirements in a very short period of time and with a significant reduction in costs compared to standard solutions. This is a two-fold saving.

- To study the design features of foundation slabs made of steel fiber, since before that steel fiber was used only for the design of floors;
- To provide logistics, because the object is 1000 km from Moscow.
