On the territory of the former Soviet workshop, the customer planned to make a car service, and therefore the old dusty concrete was destined to give way to something more modern and practical.

Taking into account the features of the existing foundation, the expected loads, the impact of aggressive substances and the wishes of the customer, our chief designer selected the optimal technical solution – a topping floor with an average thickness of 150 mm, reinforced with steel fiber over the entire area, and in front of the gate additionally reinforced with a single layer of reinforcement frame.

how we implemented this floor design

FEATURES OF THE WORK

Work on this facility was carried out in late autumn, and the room was almost unheated. The customer hurried us in every possible way so that we could finish before the onset of cold weather. We also convinced him of the need to maintain a sufficient plus temperature – not only for the time of pouring, but also for several weeks of complete drying of the concrete.

As a result, the heating was still turned on – not particularly powerful, but it was enough for an average temperature of about +10 °C.

The steel fiber had to be mixed into concrete directly at the facility. In order not to lift a lot of heavy bags manually, the customer provided a forklift, for which special thanks to him!

Difficulties arose at the sealing stage – by this time the room was already in full operation, and the cut seams were clogged with sand and clay. They had to be cleaned thoroughly before filling with sealant.

OUR RESULTS

The finished topping floor will cope with various effects of loads and substances and at the same time retain an attractive appearance, functionality and durability for many years.
