This object was located in the Millennium Park cottage village. The client planned to finish the installation of the floor for the cottage before the summer and turned to our company in the winter. The task was to pour a concrete screed with a minimum thickness of 50 mm in the presence of pipelines for underfloor heating and under the "polished concrete" technology. The client needed an affordable way to make the floor beautiful, durable and easy to operate.

FOUND AN ECONOMICAL SOLUTION TO THE FLOOR ARRANGEMENT FOR THE COTTAGE

After the request, the next day, our specialist examined and measured the room, collected the necessary information from the client and sent the data to the technical department of our company. Based on the data obtained, it was decided to offer the customer an affordable, but not inferior in quality technology using polypropylene fiber.

ADVANTAGES OF FIBER-REINFORCED CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY

Fibro-concrete floor technology, unlike reinforced with reinforcement, has a number of advantages. A single armature works only for the bottom or only for the top, and a double one will be a good blow to the wallet. Fiber works all over the base and in some respects surpasses the reinforcing mesh, namely:

  • Increases the strength of concrete for bending, compression and splitting up to 35%.
  • Increases impact and fatigue strength over 500%.
  • Prevents delamination of concrete mix up to 25%.
  • Reduces the time of primary and final hardening by up to 50%.
  • Reduces the risk of chipping corners and edges up to 90%.

HOW WE CUT COSTS

The technology we have proposed has reduced the cost by 42%, because fiber is cheaper than rebar. It greatly reduces the time of work, because there is no need to reinforce with a reinforcing mesh. At the same time, concrete is already supplied with fiber.

FLOOR ARRANGEMENT FOR A COTTAGE IN MILLENNIUM PARK

The work was carried out in winter at -15° below zero, this affected the hardening of the concrete mixture, we had to wait 40% longer than usual. In connection with the construction of the room, the concrete mix was supplied using a concrete pump, and for feeding into the basement, we constructed a complex route of concrete guides.

Additional difficulties at the facility were small rooms with an area of up to 4 m2, we coped with this manually and with the help of a single-rotor grout machine, or in the common people, a "kromochnik".

THE RESULT OF OUR WORK

Despite all the difficulties, thanks to the professionalism of our team, the work was completed on time. The result: a high-quality concrete floor that will last at least 20 years.

The client received a smooth concrete surface and wrote a review as a thank you.
