The object was a sewing enterprise. The peculiarity of this production was that a large amount of movement of fabrics on trolleys to the equipment and to the warehouse part of the room was expected in the room – the planned volumes were calculated in tons.

The room was located on the ground floor. The customer already had a concrete base, and linoleum was laid on this base at the time of contacting us. We agreed with him that he would clean the linoleum and dismantle one wall on his own, while we would organize the work and deliver materials.

After dismantling the linoleum by the customer, we arrived at the facility and took a picture. There were small differences of 2-3 cm across the entire area, except for one of the corners – in it the difference was 6-8 cm due to the presence of a slope. We suggested that this site should simply be leveled with concrete – not to fill up rubble and sand there, so as not to create an unnecessary layer between the base and our floor.

It was important to the customer that the floors last a long time. We proposed and agreed on our standard construction – a concrete floor with topping and reinforcement with polypropylene fiber.

how we implemented this floor design

FEATURES OF THE WORKS

At first, it was planned to completely fill the flat floor in one level throughout the room. After signing the contract, when the customer and I were talking about technical details, the idea came up to make a more optimal solution. The fact is that this room was located between the elevator and neighboring rooms. And so it turned out that every day there was a large traffic of people, carts from the neighboring premises, and these were other tenants, other organizations. If we filled the floor in one level, as originally planned, then they would have to go up to the level of our new floor many times every day, and then go down. This would create extra effort and movement.

To prevent such a situation, we decided with the customer to do the following in the corridor between the next door and the elevator: dismantle the concrete base that already existed there and pour the floor into the level of the adjacent room and elevator. Because of this, it turned out that we were already doing our floor in two levels: one level in the corridor and another level on the rest of the area, which turned out to be 10-15 cm higher. We had to make the most convenient transition between them so that our client could comfortably move from the corridor to the rest of the room in the future.

Of the difficulties, we also note that there were other tenants in the next room. They did not want the work to be carried out on weekdays, as it interfered with them. Therefore, I had to do everything in the evening, at night and on weekends. On Friday, after 16:00, we started dismantling work. This stage was completed overnight, the filling was done on Saturday, and it was erased on Sunday. And at the very beginning of the new week, the customer could already see the flooded finished floor. All that remained was to cut the seams – we did this on Monday.

OUR RESULTS

As a result, the floors turned out very good. The customer was satisfied – with regard to the transition from the corridor to the main part of the room, he thought that there would be a more complex geometry, but everything turned out to be simpler and more convenient. Now there is an imperceptible transition. Also note that the final coverage turned out to be beautiful.
